The Colors of the Year for 2017

As we anticipate Pantone’s release of their selection for color of the year, many other paint companies have already made their selections. Paint companies pay experts to forecast trends in color as we look to the year ahead. These colors influence everything from home decor and accessories to fashion and beauty. Purples and violets made a strong showing in 4 of the top brands rounded out with 2 beautiful neutrals.

Glidden Paint named Byzantine Blue for 2017– Don’t let the name fool you this paint reads like a purple. With strong blue and gray undertones. Nice as an accent with white but also stunning with deep gray to black.

Honorable Mention.

Dunn Edwards named Honey Glow for 2017 a warm golden yellow with orange undertones. Behr named Wanderlust a robust teal and Valspar crushed oregano a bright yellow green like it’s name suggests.

These strong colors are great in small doses.

Look for these colors to make a strong showing in 2017. If you are already a fan of purples then 2017 is your year to shine. Pair any of these colors with aged gold metal or Copper which just happens to be Krylons color of the year.
