I always admire a great mix and match room. When the fabrics, colors, textures and styles live together in harmony despite each and every one being uniquely individual. The best examples look both interesting and effortless and yet getting mix and match right is far from easy.

Here are my top tips to Mix and Match.

­Choose fabrics with different scale patterns, textures and intensity of color. If I select a large scale pattern or floral I choose a smaller geometric a nubby texture or a stripe to compliment.

● When mixing furniture styles I look for one statement piece, a juxtaposed conversation starter.

● When mixing multiple different furniture styles I choose a commonality to accentuate like color.

­ Go bold with at least one color or pattern.
