Blushing over this master bedroom makeover. The bed, chair and ottoman are all that stayed when we planned a master bedroom update. Out with the yellow walls and sand color carpet. We started with Benjamin Moore Classic Grey paint and new grey washed wide plank oak floors. A custom wool rug adds both texture and warmth to the room. For large area rugs I like to bind and back wall to wall carpet. For wood floors I use a felt backing to protect the floors. New lighting was a top priority and I happen to be in love with this lantern. The black stain on the nightstands, dresser, and desk is anchored by the black in the art. I walked into the art showroom and knew these black and pink pieces were perfection. The mirror and throw were found at West Elm and helped keep the project on budget. Both pieces were under $500.
I love to mix and layer and this master makeover is the perfect example mixing metal tones, styles and textures. I like that cool tones still read cozy and I’m sure with this new look there will be plenty of sweet dreams.
